Warden action 'could be resolved'

The council wants to merge the roles of community and parking wardens

A breakthrough could resolve a long-running dispute involving Aberdeen's community and parking wardens, BBC Scotland has learned.

They oppose council plans to merge their roles, but have agreed to suspend industrial action for two weeks.

It follows talks between council officials and union leaders.

They began a "work to rule" at the end of September after arguing that community wardens issuing tickets would not promote good relations.
